The wait staff is attentive and courteous. And if you like homemade comfort food, get ready for substantial helpings, and definitely leave room for desert.

This was not my first visit here however first for morning rush. It was a little wait ti be seated but worth the wait. Only issue was peach cobbler was horrible omg under cooked, no flavor just bowl of dough and peaches. Now hands down any other time cobbler on point. Tighten up I'm coming back regardless

If you live in Oak Cliff then I don't need to say much. Good food and great service. A staple in Oak Cliff

I am in Dallas for work but stay in Frisco when I am here and found this little gem on my GPS in my car. Thought that I would go in and check it out. Man, I was not disappointment. The food came out quick and it was GREAT. Wasn't packed, as I just missed the lunch crowd so I was able to eat and do some work. Mia my waitress was a sweetheart and very helpful. Quaint little restaurant and it reminded me of home. I will definitely will be back, as I frequent the Dallas area often.

I ordered carry out. Place was packed at lunchtime. Chicken fried chicken was awesome. 3 sides? Cornbread and a roll. I don't understand people saying there's no flavor. You can't please everyone...me? I'll patronize this establishment once if not twice, or thrice more times.

Location Downtown Oak Cliff. Parking Large side lot and street parking Fun fact Established in 1956-now 5 locations in DFW area Historic pictures on wall Atmosphere Local diner Seating Counter, booths, tables-good for groups Menu Breakfast all day, Mexican breakfast options, lunch, dinner. We had Norma's breakfast-eggs over medium and scrambled. My husband had the scrambled eggs-I usually don't order there as they tend to be greasy but t these were PERFECT!! Best ever! The bacon was crispy but t a tad greasy, the grits were creamy and tasty, the toast was evenly toasted and when we asked for butter-no problem! My husband opted for tomatoes instead of tomatoes and the serving was generous. They offer pies, cheese cakes, cobblers, cakes-looked so good. T They serve large biscuits and corn bread with entrees. These just keep coming! The chicken fried steak with bacon was ordered multiple times. Christina and Jennifer took excellent care of us. The iced tea was excellent. Summary Centrally located, historic, neighborhood spot that is a regional chain. Very popular-awesome service, great food, love this place!! I want to try more of the menu!
